Description
1931 Mason & Hamlin Model AA Grand Piano #41019 | Ebony – Fully Restored
Founded in 1854, the Mason & Hamlin Piano Company is one of only a few American piano manufacturers still in operation today. Based in Haverhill, Massachusetts the company continues to be a leader in exceptional quality and innovation. The Mason & Hamlin Model AA measures 6’2″ in length and provides a powerful, broad quality of tone that is often associated with larger pianos. ‘Overbuilt’ with an extra thick rim made of hard rock maple and featuring the patented Tension Resonator, Mason & Hamlin Grand Pianos are some of the most stable and durable pianos ever crafted. All combined, this Crown Retention System helps to lend stability and longevity to the piano’s structure and supports the production of a strong, pure tone.
Mason & Hamlin Model AA #41019 has been fully restored. This ‘golden era’ Model AA was built at the company’s Boston factory. Pianos crafted here are considered to be of top quality and are often selected for restoration over pianos built in later years. The cabinet has been refinished in a premium closed pore lacquer which has been hand rubbed to a rich satin sheen. The original brass hardware has been restored, the cast iron plate has been re-bronzed and hand-lettered and the natural wood damper heads have been refinished.
Legendary Performance
The action has been rebuilt with the highest quality, select parts. Our piano technicians spend many extra hours regulating and voicing the action to ensure that this vintage Mason & Hamlin performs at a top concert level. The keyboard features new German Kluge keytops and restored original ebony sharps on the original key sticks. The original spruce soundboard has been retained and restored.
