About Our Vintage Steinway Showroom & Piano Restoration Facility

Founded in 1975 by a young piano technician by the name of Dennis Chupp, Chupp’s Piano Service, Inc. began as a piano tuning and service company located in Goshen, Indiana. Over the past five decades, Chupp’s Pianos has grown to become one of the leading piano restoration shops in the United States with a complete team of piano professionals who are experts in the entire piano restoration process. Our piano restoration team works out of a state-of-the-art piano rebuilding facility, always striving to advance the art of piano rebuilding and restoration. During our over forty years of business, we have repaired, restored, and fully rebuilt pianos ranging from upright pianos with sentimental value to historic Steinway Grands destined for concert halls.

Now located in just outside of Goshen in the small community of New Paris, Indiana, the Chupp’s Piano Service, Inc. has steadily expanded to keep up with the demand for historic restored instruments. Upon entering our shop you will find shelves with dozens of piano actions and key sets awaiting new action parts and regulation. [The coffee makers in the corner provide a steady stream of caffeinated encouragement for our team. Our double-sectioned refinishing and spray rooms allow us to complete cosmetic refinishing, soundboard repair, new pinblock fabrication and much more. The ‘middle room’ of the Chupps Piano facility is where you will often find our techs setting cast iron plates, installing new music wire, and completing much of the fine regulation and voicing work. The hustle and bustle of steady piano craftsmanship comes alive each work-day within our shop!

The exhibit of craftsmanship doesn’t end at the doors of our rebuilding facility. Our attached Piano Showroom features (on average) dozens of fully restored and pre-owned Steinway & Sons Grand Pianos of a variety of vintages. The team at Chupp’s Piano Service strives to provide you, our client, with a fully understanding of the piano rebuilding process and to cater to your particular request. A visit to our facility will grant your the opportunity to experience a bit of the old-world craftsmanship that was once much more common during the golden era of piano manufacturing.
