1982/1983 Steinway & Sons Model L Grand Piano #482262 | Satin Ebony – Excellent Condition
Measuring 5’10 ½” in length, the Steinway Model L has long been a favorite of institutions and private pianists alike. Based heavily on the Steinway Model O (which recently made a return to production at the New York Factory) the Model L has a more squared off tail section allowing for additional soundboard area. [Learn more about the Model O here.] Balancing a combination of manageable size with a powerful sound, this piano is in excellent condition. These pianos do not take up much more room when compared to the 5’7″ Model M, yet they do offer a richer bass section and an overall broader range of tone.
Built at the New York Steinway Factory, Steinway & Sons Model L #482262 is in nearly mint condition. The piano’s serial number lines up with a piano built near the end of 1982 however, the action is actually stamped with the year 1983! Crafted during the final transition phase out of the infamous ‘Teflon-era’ this piano is free from any and all troublesome Teflon parts. The action features the original Steinway parts, accelerated action mounting and has been regulated by our piano technicians. The original diaphragmatic soundboard in excellent condition. The supporting ribs are tight against the soundboard and the board is free from any cracks, buzzing or rattles. The original hard maple pinblock is in excellent condition and the nickel plated tuning pins are tight, allowing for a stable tuning. The piano’s cabinet has been refinished in a closed pore, satin ebony cabinet finish. It is in excellent condition and is ready to deliver to your home or studio setting!
